an ordinary life

It's been a wonderful few weeks with my wonderful husband! Granted, we haven't exactly done anything interesting with our lives as of late, but I love feeling wonderful in a completely ordinary moment. Tonight I was feeling nauseous, and Andy snuggled with me and rubbed my back for a little while. We just laid there like that for a few minutes talking about his job and moving to Fargo, and it was so nice.

Side note, I have been feeling nauseous every day this week. Andy asked me if I was pregnant or something. The sad truth is, I would love it if I was pregnant, and there's a small part of me that hopes I am, but it's very unlikely. It's sad because Andy is great with kids (which is surprising for some reason). The other night we were watching my 1-year old nephew, and he loved Andy. I got to hang out with him all the next day and even went with him to get his hair cut. Here's a picture of the adorableness.

Isn't he the cutest? Being around him makes me want a little person of my own. Of course, waiting isn't such a bad thing.

future

I applied to NDSU the other day! I am so happy to finally start moving on and advancing my life. No, I am not 100% positive what I want to do with my life, but I am going to major in something I love that will give me options. I plan to major in English. When I am done with my Bachelor's degree, I will either be teaching high school, applying to law school, or pursuing a doctorate. Andy and I could not be more excited.

Which means we are moving! Finally! I cannot wait to be moved out of his parent's house. It is only two and a half hours away, but Fargo feels like an oasis where we can start building our lives. Plus, I'll be closer to three of my best friends in the entire world. I feel like that is important in your first year of marriage. You spend so much time with your husband, and it can be overwhelming. it will be a nice change to have Tara, Taylor, and Katie within driving distance.

Also, we got a "sneak peek" of our wedding photos today. 54 photos! Here are a few of my favorties; I can't wait to see the rest in a couple months.

the aftermath

Andrew and I were married on Monday, 12/31/12. It was a beautiful ceremony and the reception was a little too much fun for some people. I was absolutely overwhelmed by everything that my friends and family did for me in the days leading up to the nuptials, and I couldn't be more thankful...

...But this blog is dedicated to what happens after the wedding and will follow Andy and I as we enter our first year of marriage.

So how have my first four days of married life been? Positively underwhelming. The day after the wedding, we both realized that we had gotten sick. It probably didn't help that we took pictures outdoors. Now, several days later, I am fairly certain that I have contracted an ear infection and possibly strep throat. (Unfortunately, I can't go into the doctor because I switched to Andy's insurance on the first and we haven't gotten our new insurance card yet.) I'm almost happy we couldn't afford a honeymoon right away so that we can sit on the couch in our pajamas feeding each other chicken noodle soup.

Don't get me wrong, I am unbelievably happy to be married to my best friend. However, I feel like our first week of marriage could be improved by better health.
